School Ties

School is right around the corner (eek!) Some of us are really ready to go back, while others are still savoring the last few days of summer. For the rising high schoolers and middle schoolers who read this, just remember to breath, it may seam a little daunting in the  beginning, but remember you probably thought elementary and middle school was just as scary, but you adjusted. Here are some key tips to remember on the first day.

                                               1. Breathe, everyone else is nervous too.
You're probably scared about the size or the school, the rigor of the classes, subjects that aren't your best, but remember so is everyone else. If there is a class you are struggling in, the teachers are there to help you, its their job. Before school, after school or at lunch, the teachers are there to make sure that you understand.

                                                       2.  Ask questions. Seriously.
A lot of people are afraid to ask questions during or outside of class, they think it will make them look like they're not smart. However, in reality the teachers will admire the student for taking initiative and it will show that she's really listening and paying attention.

Have fantastic first day!

fall 2013 nail polish

Hey Everyone,
While we still have a few more weeks to savor summer,
I thought it would be fun to a post about fall nail polish trends.
I found this at www.elle.com. They had a post of the 20 fall nail
trends, and I picked a few of my favorites to share with you!
I will also include my favorite brands and topcoats.

fall 2013 nail polish
If you click on this it will take you to Polyvore and you can see where to buy, brands, and prices.
1. Midnight Blue
2.Emerald Green
3.Poppy
4. Metallics
5.Neutrals
6. Amethyst

My top nail polish brands would have to be Essie and OPI, because I find that they stay on the longest without chipping.
For my top coat,  I use the glossier nails topcoat. Seche Vite is also a good one I have not tried. As well as the CND top coat ( which I have tried and is quite good.)

Enjoy!
Let me know in the  comments what your favorite fall nail polishes are!!

SAVE UP SUMMER

Hey guys! So alot of you are going back to school or are in school. I'm not back to school yet. But my goal is o save up summer. While you can, do some fun things with friends before school starts, because it does get kind of hard to do those things because of cooler weather or schedual changes. Amusement park? Water park? Movies? Beach? Pool? PARTY!

So round up your friends and save up summer!

Summer Hair

Since we have a while until fall, I wanted to write this post so you all could take advantage of the summer sun. Sometimes in the summer we get natural highlights from the sun.  To play up or increase those highlights, you can put lemon juice in your hair. This works best for light to medium brown hair, but it can work really well with caution on dark brown and black hair. There are a few ways to put the lemon juice in your hair.

Method #1:  Before you get in the shower, cut a medium to small lemon in half. You can either bring it in the shower as is, or juice the lemon and put the juice in a plastic cup. In the shower wash your hair as you normally would. Apply conditioner to your hair as you normally would as well. Then, pour the lemon juice on any areas of your hair you would like to lighten/highlight. Rise the conditioner out as you normally would. Please use caution when applying the lemon juice, for this can discolor your hair when too much is applied. After your shower go out in the sun! Remember, your hair will not lighten immediately, this takes some time.

Method #2: Wet your hair so it is damp but not soaking. Mix juice from one lemon in a cup with water, so there is one part juice to two parts water. Add about a capful of conditioner. Put mixture in a spray bottle and spray any areas you would like lightened. Go out in the sun! The same precautions apply as from above.

The video above that I found on you tube will help! (that is not me:)
Enjoy your summer hair!!

Bling Ring

Hey! I have a cute nail design for you. Super simple, too!

You need:

*Solid color nail polish
*Non-solid color polish that looks good with the solid color

Paint all you nails the solid color (you only need a thin layer for the ring finger), and paint the non-solid on your ring finger.

You can switch up the finger that's getting blinged out, but I think that it looks the best on your ring finger.

And ta-da! You don't even need a real ring. The bling ring finger is already eye-catching.

Enjoy that bling ring!

Ooooh! And in the comments try to post a picture. We'll repost the fav pic on our blog! What are you waiting for???

Beach Beauty

We all love the beach. Or at least most of us do. The beach environment loves us back, the beachy sea salt waves? Check! Natural highlights? Double check! But the sun? Natural sun when walking around can be great, but too much of a good thing is not a good thing anymore. Tanning and lying in the sun may make you look good now, but down the road it can cause serious problems. The repercussions of tanning are huge! Including early aging, sun damaged skin and even skin cancer. Personally, I think pale can be beautiful too, too tan is too much for me. But, if you're in the market for a summer glow, choose a tinted lotion instead. Let's not forget about those sunburns. Try to avoid them by reapplying at least SPF 30 in prime sun, wearing hats and sunglasses and coverups-sometimes. However, if the burn strikes, apply an aloe lotion, or rub a leaf of an aloe plant on the burn to soothe the achy, burning feeling and to help your skin recover faster.

I mentioned beachy waves before. Sea salt sprays are all the rage this season to maintain healthy beachy waves without the ocean.

Stay healthy/pretty in hot weather!

Hey everybody! Today I'm going to tell you about some ways to stay pretty/healthy in hot weather:

So, think about the things you want to protect. Your skin, eyes and hair!!! Remember sunscreen! The MINIMUM SFP sunscreen you should ever wear is SFP 15. And a true fact is that bad skin isn't usually caused from old age, it's because of the sun damaging your skin! Wear sunglasses if your going to be doing anythin g that is going to have your face right at the sun. Make sure your hair and lips get taken care of. You can get SPF lip balm/chapstick. And your hair should be washed and dryed after spending time in the sun so it doesn't get greasy or dehydrated.

Thanks for reading! P.S. All these facts should be true, otherwise my sources have done a bad job.

TTYL, :)

Changes?!

There are some changes in store for the CC for sure. While we  all love to cook and BAKE, this blog has become more of a style and lifestyle blog. The CC may start a whole new blog, or just revamp this one. We hope you will come along for the ride as we decide what to do with our blog. That being said, cupcakes will probably stay with us in whatever we decide to do. They may be in a post here and there but, they might no longer be the sole focus of a site.

The girls at the CC have been inspired by some great fashion/lifestyle blogs. Here are some of our (and maybe your) top  picks.

 Carly Heitlinger- www.thecollegeprepster.com
Robbie Downey- www.balletbabble.blogspot.com (she has a YouTube channel as well:) This one is for the ballet girls out there. The girls at the CC do ballet.

Do any of you have a Pinterest? I have been loving it! It's like a virtual bulletin board!

Thanks for bearing with us in the midst of our changes!

Beat the Heat?

Hey everyone!
Summer is upon us! This means school is finally out and we can all relax. At least for a little while. While we are so excited for the hot summer weather, staying trendy is a bit of a concern for those of us who are always trying to beat the heat. Below, is a summer look that is super trendy all while helping you stay cool (in more ways than one:) The top, from J.Crew, is an example of the beautiful coraly colors that are oh so trendy this summer. The slightly high waisted, light wash J.Crew jean shorts are an exemplary pick of summer style for summer 2k13. We all  want our feet to be comfortable and cool, with out getting a flip flop tan maybe? This pair of TOMS, is a rich white lace that will match will everything. This navy and cram cross body bag is brilliant for the summer when you do not feel like toting around a full fledged purse! These essentials will get you through the summer in style. And always remember your sunglasses.
Good luck beating the heat!

Six Flags trip!!!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah oh my gosh!!!!!!!!!!!

Today I went to Six Flags (2nd time ever) and rode a rollercoaster for the first time. Can you believe it? We only had enough time for 3 rollercoasters. I'll list the one's I went to in order of me riding them:

1. Demon (Kinda funny that my first rollercoaster had upside-down parts! Normally your first is pretty easy)
2. X-Flight (Me and my friends liked it the most out of all three!)
3. Dark Night (The wait was long, but me and one of my friends thought it was worth it.)

Friday, June 14, 2013

Just a short post ;)

Hey everybody! I got out of school yesterday. Getting to my point, even when school's over, it's never to late to do something with your class over the summer!

CC movie review: Soul Surfer

                  WELCOME TO THE MOVIES
                  with Cousin's Cupcakes
                  **********************

Here's today's movie review:

MOVIE: Soul Surfer

RATED: PG. In my opinion, PG-13 would've been a better rating, but just for one intense scene. BUT, I think that PG-13 might be giving the wrong idea about the movie. There is no swearing or anything inappropriot.

ABOUT: (This takes place in Hawaii.)Teen surfer Bethany Hamilton lives for surfing. One day, while surfing with her best friend, Alana, and Alana's brother and father, Bethany gets her left arm bit off by a shark. After the bite, comes about a minute of blood. SO BE PREPARED!!! After she recovers, she starts surfing again. That's the base of the movie.

MY REVIEW: This movie was so good!!! It was inspirational, but also totally awesome. It may seem like this review is short, but really, it's just so awesome I can't describe it! See for yourself!

MY 5 STAR RATING: Out of five stars, I rate this a five plus! It was the most inspirational movie ever!

WHERE YOU CAN WATCH IT: It's on Netflix, but it's not a Watch Instantly option. It's also in Redbox's.

Okay guys! Thanks for reading! In the comments, tell us what you thought of this movie, OR, recommend a movie for us to watch/review. Bye for now!

Fashion Update: Styles to rock this spring and summer

Styles: 2 styles to choose from. Bohemian or Western.

Bohemian aka Boho: Like hippy, except a more chic, no dread locks, peace-sign sunglasses, tie-die t-shirts, bellbotoms and bandanas. To achieve boho, try to wear long, flowy skirts, jean vests, tank tops, leather or suede accessories (I choose fake, because I'm vegetarian, but it's up to you), braided bracelets, and sunglasses!

Western aka Cowgirl: No spurs needed! Try wearing a plaid shirt with any denim at all. Denim shorts, jeans, or denim skirt. If you have 'em, wear cowboy boots. A straw hat could tie up the look, but you don't have to wear one.

NOTE: Chunky bangles are great for these looks. Just make sure they match the colors of your outfit.

Hair for boho: Hair loose, maybe a few tiny braid in it.

Hair for cowgirl: Down or in a low ponytial.

YouTube channels to watch

Hi everyone! Sorry how long it's been since we've posted. But... Here's a post that'll entertain you for a loooooooong time! It's cool YouTube channels to check out:

For girls:
AndreasChoice (mostly hair, style nails)
MichellePhan (mostly makeup, nails)
bubzbeauty (mostly hair, makeup, style, cute crafts, things she calls 'girl talk's)
dope2111 (mostly 'how to look like (whoever it is)' tutorials.)
Charismastar (mostly same as dope2111)
cutepolish (the name says it all, NAILPOLISH!!)

Now, I'm not saying that boys CAN'T watch these channels, but I'm saying they SHOULDN'T because there is sometimes some girl stuff said on these channels, mostly on bubzbeauty, then AndreasChoice, then MichellePhan.

For everybody (10 and up):
nigahiga

So funny! But sometimes rude and mature humor, so I think that if you showed a kid who's younger than ten who might retain bad things (such as a five, six, seven, eight or nine year old) you'd regret it so much.

Alright guys, have fun watching these channels. See?! I told you that you'd be entertained for a loooong time with this post, because now you'll have lots of channels to watch.

Cupcake recipe NOT to make!

Okay guys, I know you were looking forward to get some cupcake recipes.
But that didn't work out! Our cupcakes exploded! So please follow a recipe!
Here's a cupcake recipe NOT to make:
Water
Lemonade mix powder
Unsweetened cocoa powder
Egg
Flour

And we baken 'em for... Ten minutes I think. And when we opened the oven... BAM! We saw the cupcakes MOVING and BUBBLING and there was smoke coming out of them, ugh! It was horrible.

Well, you got the oposite of what you wanted. But really, I think it's almost just as helpful.
Once again, we're so sorry we don't have a good recipe for you.
But you can try making this one and see if the same thing happens to you!

INTERVIEW (da da da dahhhhhhhhh)

Me (middle CC) interviewing the littlest CC.

What's your favorite cupcake flavor?

Vanilla cake with vanilla frosting.

And why's that your favorite kind?

It's just because it's something I like. But I still like chocolate, too.

Thanks, but really, can you tell us why you like this flavor?

It doesn't taste nutty, I don't like nuts.

Okay, what topings do you like on your cupcakes?

Chocolate chips. It mixes in more, it tastes like cookie dough or cake batter, but really, I like it, tat's the good part about it.

Compare these two topings-- FRUIT vs POWDERED SUGAR ON A CUPCAKE!

Powdered sugar. Because fruit with cupcakes kinda tastes like a fruit pie.

Well, there you have it! Vanilla cupcakes with vanilla frosting with chocolate chips and powdered sugar is a good cupcake! And remember to read my movie review that I published just before this post. BUH-BYE!!!!!!!!!

CC movie review: Mr. Bean's Holiday

     WELCOME TO THE MOVIES
         with Cousin's Cupcakes
       ****************************

Here's today's movie review:

MOVIE: Mr. Bean's Holiday

RATED: G. Don't get the rating wrong, it's not a babyish movie, it just is not scary or violent, or containing any bad language so that's why it's rated G.

ABOUT: Mr. Bean wins a trip to Cannes (prenounced 'kahn' or 'con') France. On the trian there, he ends up accidenly separating a dad from his son. Then, the boy and Mr. Bean meet and actress, Sabine, and ride in her car with her to Cannes. But on the way they stop at the premiere of Sabine's movie. And there the boy and his dad and mom find each other. After the movie is not like the people expected, Mr. Bean goes out the door of the theater to find what he wanted... (But I don't want to spoil the ending for you!)

MY REVIEW: This movie was awesome! Kinda weird because Mr. Bean is really weird, but it was such a good movie! I LOVED the ending and the moral of the move... Friendship! A great family movie.

MY 5 STAR RATING: With this movie, I'd have to say 4 or 4 and a half out of five. Why? Because some of the things Mr. Bean does are really weird. But it rocked! Great movie!

WHERE CAN YOU WATCH IT: I watched it on Netflix. It's a 'Watch Instantly' one, so you don't have to order the disc!

Okay guys! Thanks for reading! In the comments, tell us what you thought of this movie, OR, recommmend a movie for us to watch/review. Bye for now!

Fashion Update: How to/not to wear leggings

                        Fashion Update
                        *************
Hey! Here's tips on how to/not to wear leggings.

How to: Wear them under a skirt or dress, or a long shirt that is long enough to be at least mini skirt length.

How not to: Don't confuse leggings with pants! Please. So if you're not wearing something that basically covers your bottom, then don't wear leggings! I've seen leggings worn that way before, by some younger girls, it really doesn't look pleasant.

TIP: If your going to wear a patterned skirt/dress/long shirt, then DON'T wear patterned leggings with it. It will be a brain overload for all people looking at your outfit. And it's also vice-versa. If your wearing patterned leggings, go for a solid-colored skirt/dress/long shrit.

Fashion Update: Color Crazy

                        Fashion Update
              **********************
Okay, some color tips: Orange can clash with red. People say black goes with everything, but acctually, not super well with dark brown.

Colors for this month: I don't want to do super dreary colors, but April kinda inspires me with these colors, so here goes; Khaki green, lavender-like blue, and reddish pink. They're all kinda like odd pastels.

Color and season guide: Summer: Bright colors (but not dark neons, like neon purple and blue.) Fall: Nature-y colors like gingery orange, a leafy eggplant red, things like that. Yep, fall is the hardest to explain. Winter: Just remember light colors, but not colorful colors either. And Spring: You can wear pastels!

News

News: Hey guys! The CC will be together THIS WEEKEND! OMG! We will do fun stuff together, and keep you posted. I'm also gonna post some fashion posts for the site (although you guys already knew that!) Buh-bye! :)

The magic of Ballet-Discovering light and fluffy cupcakes

Most girls know a little something about ballet and most girls have done ballet at least once in their lives. And most everyone knows what gives ballet its special magic... pointe shoes. Some of us know what pointe shoes look like, the glossy shiny pink stain with pink stain ribbons. They were created to make dancer's look weightless. Two members of the CC take ballet and they all dance. So I pondered the question of weightless cupcakes. Light, airless seeming cupcakes. Could this be done? A post shoe-esque cupcake?
Here are some seemingly weightless, melt in your mouth cupcakes. Enjoyy! Send us your own recipes!

Its Spring!

Good News!! Its finally spring! (well as of the 21st) It may not be quite warm enough to call it spring officially but spring it is. With all these holidays coming we thought we would share some recipes with you.

Passover flour less cake(cupcakes)
Courtesy of food network Tyler Florence
Ingredients
1 pound bittersweet chocolate, chopped into small pieces
1 stick unsalted butter*
9 large eggs, separated
3/4 cup granulated sugar, plus 1 tablespoon
2 cups heavy cream, cold
Confectioners' sugar, for dusting
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Butter a 9-inch springform pan.

Put the chocolate and butter into the top of a double boiler (or in a heatproof bowl) and heat over (but not touching) about 1 inch of simmering water until melted. Meanwhile, whisk the egg yolks with the sugar in a mixing bowl until light yellow in color. Whisk a little of the chocolate mixture into the egg yolk mixture to temper the eggs - this will keep the eggs from scrambling from the heat of the chocolate - then whisk in the rest of the chocolate mixture.

Beat the egg whites in a mixing bowl until stiff peaks form and fold into the chocolate mixture. Pour into the prepared pan and bake until the cake is set, the top starts to crack and a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out with moist crumbs clinging to it, 20 to 25 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes, then remove sides of pan.

While the cake is cooking, whip the cream until it becomes light and fluffy.

Serve at room temperature dusted with confectioners' sugar and topped with whipped cream.

*Cook's Note: Food Network Kitchens tested this recipe after this show was taped and determined that 1 stick butter is the correct amount.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line two 12-cup cupcake tins with paper liners. (To avoid cupcakes sticking if they overflow slightly, lightly spray the tops of the pans.) Put tins on a baking sheet. Set aside.

Process sugar and butter in a food processor until very creamy, scraping sides as needed, 1 to 2 minutes. Add the eggs and yolks, one at a time, pulsing after each addition. Add the milk, water, and vanilla and process to blend.

Whisk both flours, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl. Add the dry ingredients, in 3 batches to the wet, pulsing, and then scraping batter off the sides of the processor as needed after each addition. Process until the batter is very smooth and pourable like pancake batter, about 2 minutes.

Evenly pour the batter into the prepared cups, filling them 3/4 of the way full. Bake until the cakes are just firm and spring back when gently pressed, and the tops are golden, 18 to 25 minutes. Cool slightly in tin, and turn out of tin when cool enough to handle. Cool cupcakes completely on a rack before frosting.

Yield: 24 cupcakes

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Cook Time: 25 minutes

Inactive Prep Time: 30 minutes

Ease of preparation: easy

Fluff Frosting:
1/4 cup whole milk
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
10 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
5 cups confectioners' sugar
1/2 cup marshmallow fluff
Pinch fine salt
Whisk the milk and vanilla extract together in a small bowl.

Slowly beat the butter and sugar, in another medium bowl, with an electric mixer until incorporated. Raise the speed to high and mix until light and fluffy, about 5 to 7 minutes. (Occasionally turn the mixer off, and scrape the sides of the bowl down with a rubber spatula.) Add the fluff and salt and reduce the speed to low. Add the milk and vanilla mixture, scrape the bowl down, and mix until fully incorporated. Raise the mixer to high and beat briefly until fluffy, about 1 to 2 minutes. Frost cupcake immediately.

Yield: 3 3/4 cups

Coconut Easter Grass for Cupcakes:
2 cups sweetened shredded coconut
1 to 2 teaspoons liquid green food coloring
1/2 to 1 teaspoon liquid yellow food coloring
Preheat oven to 250 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place a mesh rack on top, if available.

Put coconut in a shallow bowl. While tossing with a large spoon, add food coloring drop by drop until the desired color is reached. A little more green than yellow makes a pretty grass color. Add a few tablespoons water to moisten the mixture and help disperse the color evenly. If the color is too dark, add additional water, as needed, to dilute to the desired color. Drain the coconut in a sieve or strainer.

Spread the coconut in an even layer on the rack, or directly on the lined baking sheet. Place in the oven until dry, about 10 to 15 minutes. Use immediately, or store in covered container for up to 3 days.

Cook's Note: Food coloring can be messy and can stain your skin. To prevent this, wear latex gloves. You may find it easier to color the coconut in a large zip top plastic bag, tossing it to color evenly.

Yield: 2 cups coconut grass

Weekly Horrorscopes

Weekly horrorscopes:

Aquaris: You take time to relax often, take some time to do something athletic. You will dicover some new things that way.

Pisces: You try to make sure things are equal. But the equal choice may not be the best choice. Remember that you do not have to take sides, but do what is right.

Aries: You hold alot of stress in your life. You need to push all negative emotions aside for a while and enjoy yourself. Only worry when you need to.

Taurus: You tend to hold grudges when you get really upset. Try to go with the flow a little more and just accept an apoligy from time to time. But only when you know the apoligy is sincere.

Gemini: You have someone like you in your life. That is a nice thing when you can still be an individual. Do not let anybody become you. You are the only you. That's the way it should be.

Cancer: You need to focus on events that are current, and less of the past. You will find yourself making much more progress in life that way.

Leo: You love the way you look... Most of the time. Keep the scales of your feelings equal. Don't be vain. But don't be inconfident with the way you look, either. Chances are, you're very beautiful, inside and out, but over all, inner beauty is most important.

Virgo: You can be rough with people sometimes. You're thought of as sharp edges, not soft curves. Think circle, not square. Be gentle, but still be well rounded, too. Circle is purity.

Libra: You work hard, study hard, and are a great student academically. But try some other things too. Such as art, dance and sports. That way you will have mastered mental and fisical enlightenment.

Scorpio: You are a great friend. That's why when you lash out at friends, they feel so hurt. They are not used to you hurting them. Always be careful of the power you hold in your body, but also your words. Those are the things that hurt people the most.

Sagittarius: You are inconfident with the way you look and try to make other people feel the same way as you. That is the way to not only make yourself feel bad, but other people, too.

Capricorn: You are simple and peaceful. But you need time to be who you are with your friends. So take time to be louder and jumpier. Not in the bad way, but in the involved way.

Which should I serve...?

Last Post for Fashion Week with the CC

Fashion Week with the CC, artical #4: Last Fashion Week post.

Today is the last day of Fashion Week with the CC. But we'll have it be an anual thing. Maybe every month or so around the same time we can do Fashion Week again.

Here is something to try: Outfit Planner:
Do this by using things you already own:

*1 T-shirt
*1 tank top
*1 pair of jeans
*1 pair of leggings
*1 pair of dress pants (if you have them, otherwise, just simple pants will do.)
*1 hoodie (NOT a sports team one!)
*1 fancy sweater or cardigan
*1 pair of knee socks
*1 pair ankle socks
*1 pair athletic shoes
*1 pair dress shoes
*1 mini skirt
*1 long skirt
*1 casual dress

Okay, mix 'n' match those to create new outfits just by using things you already have!
Thanks 4 reading!

Fashion Week with the CC artical #1

Fashion Week with the CC, artical #1: TIPS

Okay.. 3 major tips for you!
1: Don't mix colors that sort of look the same. Example: Red with orange.
2: Faux fur is the best to buy... Rather than real fur because real fur costs too much and is mean to animals. Mostly the mean to animals part.
3: Mix your own fashion ideas with other ones that you like!

More posts coming! Luv, luv, luv CC Fashion Week!

Last time I checked we had 575 views for our site! A-MAZ-ING!

So... I want to tell you all about succes in the baking/blogging world:

RULES FOR BAKING/BLOGGING:
1: Actually put some thought into your writing. Example of BAD writing: Today's cupcakes were good. Yummy, I guess. Bye? I guess. (Do you really want to sound like that?)
2: For when you're baking, don't post how much money you made selling cupcakes on your site. Too unprofessional. Am I right???

BONUS RULE: Remember the 2 B's: Baking, blogging. So remember to B&B!

WOW THATS HORRIBLE

Hi everybody! Now, I want to know your opinion about this:
Who was watching the Oscars last night? I was. Then, at one part, I was totally and deffinitly HORRIFFEID!
Ted, the bear from the movie 'Ted' came out and started talking. Saying one horrible word over, and over. And I'm thinking: The Oscars are supposed to be fancy. And these horrible words are ruining it!
Yep. That's right. Everyone watching it was horriffeid.
So, yeah. Just letting you know.

News report

"Hello. This is a breaking news story we have here."
(Please, pay attention to whats going on.)

The new cupcake bakers and bloggers of 'Cousin's Cupcakes' are taking their way to the top of the food chain. With every recipe they test, blog they post, and converstion they start abaout Cousin's Cupcakes gets them more and more popular! If you have not tasted a cupcake made by the CC crew, your life hasn't begun yet."

Please, turn off the T.V. after your done 'watching' this program.

Cherry Blossoms!

Its  almost cherry blossom time... almost. I love the cherry blossoms! If you have ever seen them in DC, they are pretty cool to look at ( on the national mall:) They usually start popping open in late March! I guess I have a little ways to go.

But these pretty pink blossoms call for some cupcakes. Here  are some  cherry-themed recipes to jump-start your spring. Not that its spring yet... wishful thinking on my part. I am getting a little tired of winter and I am totally ready to break out the shorts. I guess I'll have to wait another month for that.

Let's Talk Budget

Let's talk budget:
How to spend smart on things for baking your cupcakes
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Supplies:
Cupcake tins: Can be bought cheaply. If you see an over-priced set of them, it's best to say, "pass."
Cupcake pans: Buy a few big ones. Say you buy 2 big cupcake pans. They'd probably be priced less than 5 half size cupcake pans.
Wooden spoons: It's good to have a wooden spoon. But they shouldn't be sold over $5.00. Otherwise, pass and don't get that spoon.
Aprons: Good to have if your passionate about baking. If not, then just make sure you wear clothes you wouldn't mid getting dirty. Buy an apron because of these things:
Quality
Size
Use
Need
Or Q.S.U.N.
Bowls: No expensive metal for a casual baking bowl. For a serving bowl, feel free to choose any you like, though.

Ingredients:
Let's face it, food can be expensive. But don't try to buy the cheapest thing you can. It matters how good the product actually is, rather than it's price. But here's an example of over-priced food: 1 bag powdered sugar (from Paris) $15.00 over some other brand of powdered sugar that tastes just as good. Buy ingredients smartly.

Well, that's all I have for now. Buh-bye, everybody!

CC newsletter

Hi! I was thinking... maybe we should start a CC newsletter.
You could read things about the CC, (it would be no comments allowed, because in newspapers there are no sections to comment.)
It would be on this site, but we would have people 'subscribe' to us, (not real subscribing, just in the comments for our blog tell us what yopu would like to be called.) Then, we would use the names of everyone who 'subscribed' and say "This newsletter is to be read by ______, ________, _________, _________." Yeah. Just lots of people.

So 'Subscribe'to our newsletter!

The Cupcake Way: A guide to understanding how the CC works :)

The Cupcake Way: A guide to understanding how the CC works :)

Here's how we make our cupcakes:

*Take the order
*Find a recipe to use
*Give each worker a part to do in making the cupcakes
*When batter is ready, put in oven
*Take cupcakes out of the oven, and repeat only doing it for frosting.

So, that's how a kitchen needs to operate for fast, easy, {clean(?)} fun baking!

TIP: DO... Ask for help if you need it.
DON'T... Think you'll know everything right away.

More coming next time! Have people look at the blog. Although, just read our first post because there ARE RULES about how, and who can use our blog. 'Till next time!

Happy Valentines Day!!!

Happy Valentines Day!

Okay, V-day isn't over quite yet. Because we have something fun 4 U 2 try!

In my class, this whole week, we did this thing called 'Secret Valentine'. It was like secret Santa.
So last Friday we picked names from a bag and that's the person we had to give two gifts to.
Today was the revealing day.
I couldn't believe who had me! One of my best friends! (Of course, I asked her who she got, and she said she got someone else so she wouldn't spoil it for me.)

We also had to give an additional gift for revealing.
We recently had something my school does called 'The Bake Sale', so my whole grade baked things.
I, naturally, baked cupcakes. Red Velvet for V-day.
My friend who was my secret velentine, she baked pumkin pie cupcakes and gave one to me.
But that wasn't the whole revealing gift.
She said she forgot to bring the gift she was going to get me, (She told me what it was: Nail polish, lip gloss, ect.) so she brought one of her pumkin pie cupcakes and gave it to me.
She said she'd give me the real gift on Monday. Not Friday, because this Friday we're off school.
(I know, lucky us, right)

Anyway, the point of this post was to let you know:
1: Play the 'Secret Valentine' game.
2: Bake cupcakes for bake sales. (You might have one, some day!)
3: Happy V-day!

                             <3 p="">                                  A CC worker!
P.S. I think we should type the first letter of our name so you know who's posting these things.

So... <3 2="" a="" and="" are="" but="" bye="" cc="" did="" j="" make="" not="" other="" p="" post.="" there="" they="" this="" worker.="" worker="" workers="">
